# Hank's Grille & Catering

> Hank's Grille & Catering is a Shenandoah Valley barbecue restaurant and full-service catering company with locations in McGaheysville and the Dayton Farmers Market, serving hardwood-smoked meats and made-from-scratch Southern cuisine. Tagline: "Made From Scratch."

Hank's began in 1988 as a walk-up barbecue shack north of downtown Harrisonburg, VA, selling only pork BBQ, beef BBQ and BBQ chicken. Catering was added and the Dayton Farmers' Market location opened in 2000, followed by Hank's Grille & Catering in McGaheysville in 2002. The kitchen smokes meats purely over hardwood — no electric, no gas — bakes its own breads and desserts, and hand-cuts its own steaks and seafood; ribs are rubbed with Hank's Rib Rub 12 hours ahead, then pit smoked for 6 hours and basted every 30 minutes with red wine vinegar. Hank's has been voted Best Barbecue in the Valley by Virginia Living Magazine and The Daily News Record, and its catering team has more than 20 years of experience and over 1,500 weddings.
